Description

MyToolkit is a collection of useful classes for WinRT, Windows Phone, Silverlight and WPF. These classes have been developed or collected by Rico Suter.

List of available classes

If you have found some bugs or have other comments, feel free to send me an e-mail (can be found on http://rsuter.com). I don't want money for my work but if you use it, please put a link to this codeplex site in the source code.

This is a project which changes rapidly. It is possible that the behavior of classes or APIs change without notice. I don't have the resources to maintain a change log and guarantee backward compatibility.

Installation with NuGet (recommended)

Search for

MyToolkit: All base classes which can be used in your app (and in your background agents)
MyToolkit.Extended: All classes which are not allowed in background agents can be found in this package (mainly user controls and UI classes).

NuGet package update: It is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the package rather than updating because sometimes the update process is not working correctly.

If you have a problem loading the package, try installing the newest version of NuGet in MS Visual Studio. If you can't update your NuGet extension, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Compilation of the source code

IMPORTANT: You need to install the windows phone toolkit to compile the MyToolkit.Phone and MyToolkit.Phone.WinPRT project!

The method needs to be marked with async:

I have gotten the new versions and now see the GetVideoUriAsync in explorer as well as the compiler has stopped complaining about it missing. Now I get an error while trying to execute:

var url = await YouTube.GetVideoUriAsync(vidPath, YouTubeQuality.Quality1080P);

It says await needs to be run in an async method and to change the return type to a task.

Am I incorrect in thinking that since I am running an async method that this command can be placed in a standard method?

I have installed from NuGet MyToolKit and Extended both at latest versions. However looking at package explorer I don't see a reference for GetVideoUriAsync and it is throwing a compiler error as well essentially stating it is missing.

I see on the homepage it looks like maybe you guys know of this and are about to release a new version of MyToolkit for support with WP7 projects that allows async. Is this related? If so do we have an ETA when that will go live on NuGet or should I use your project from source?

Strange. This is a very simple control. I recommend downloading the source code and directly debug with this to get more informations... If you find the bug ill fix it in the library...

I've got a youtubebutton inside of a listboxitem template that throws an exception when running

"Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component."

Xaml:
