GetVideoUriAsync Windows 8.1

Mar 25, 2014 at 4:33 PM
I can't get the GetVideoUriAsync() to work in my Windows 8.1 app. I have it working in a Windows 8 app, but in the Windows 8.1 the GetVideoUriAsync() never returns. I have the following code:
var videoUri = await MyToolkit.Multimedia.YouTube.GetVideoUriAsync("PQVlW4xbNuI", MyToolkit.Multimedia.YouTubeQuality.Quality1080P);
            if (videoUri != null)
                player.Source = videoUri.Uri;
Any suggetstions?

Ill try it on my machine as soon as possible...
Have you tried to use the MyToolkit source code and debug the method?

Hi Rico,

Thanks for your quick response, I havent tried that yet, I haven't (yet) been able to find the source code, I will give it another try later this evening.

Kind regards,

Niels.

Download it from this repository: https://xp-dev.com/svn/mytoolkit

Thanks, I think I'll need an svn client for that, I'm used to working with tfs… I'll have a look.

Very nice toolkit by the way, my compliments!!!

Cheers,

Niels Cup.

Thanks! I’ve just installed visual svn (visual studio plugin). I also rated your project (5* of course)

I think I am missing some stuff, I am getting a couple of build errors:

Error 39 The system cannot find the path specified. C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\WindowsXaml\v12.0\8.1\Microsoft.Windows.UI.Xaml.Common.targets 202 5 MyToolkit.Extended.WinRT

Should I just import the MyToolkit projects to my solution and add a reference to the these projects?

Hi Rico,

I have just added a test app to your MyToolkit and tested the GetVideoUriAsync() The good news: Works flawlessly!!! The bad news: I have no idea why it doesn't work in my other project, but that's for me to find out, I will let you know when I have...

FYI: before I was able to build the project I got a bunch of build errors stating: The type 'System.Tuple<T1,T2>' exists in both 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\.NETPortable\v4.0\Profile\Profile154\mscorlib.dll' and 'c:\Users\Niels\Documents\Visual Studio 2013\Projects\MyToolkit\packages\Microsoft.Bcl.1.1.6\lib\portable-net40+sl4+win8+wp71\System.Runtime.dll' C:\Users\Niels\Documents\Visual Studio 2013\Projects\MyToolkit\MyToolkit\Utilities\EnumerableExtensions.cs

The errors came from the EnumerableExtensions and DataManagerBase, I saw that the code wasn’t used so once I commented out the failing code everything worked fine.

Cheers,

Niels!
